Rent a Green Machine on Your Next Trip

“Give the planet a vacation the next time you take one”. That’s the slogan for Bio-Beetle, a car rental company in Maui and at LAX that rent cars fueled by 100 percent bio-diesel. More and more car rental companies are jumping on the eco bandwagon by adding hybrid choices to their fleets.
Now green travelers don’t have to feel guilty while away from their beloved hybrids. Even novices can use their vacation or next business trip as an opportunity to test drive the newest fuel efficient vehicle and perhaps be persuaded to purchase one.
- Enterprise Rental already operates a fleet of more than 3,000 hybrid vehicles and has a multi-faceted environmental platform which includes their 50 Million Tree Pledge and are researching ways to develop alternatives to finite fossil fuels.
- Budget Rent-A-Car made over 1,000 Prius available this past summer.
- EV Rental Cars prides itself on being the nation’s only car rental agency that exclusively offers hybrid vehicles.
- Fox Rent a Car currently offers Prius, Honda Civic or SUV Hybrid rentals at seven of their corporate locations including Los Angeles, Oakland, San Jose, San Francisco, Orange County, and San Diego.
- Hertz recently announced the launch of their Green Collection and boasts over 35,000 eco-friendly cars. “Reserve and Conserve” is their catchy slogan. And for every reserved and paid Green Collection rental, they state they will contribute one dollar to the National Park Foundation with a minimum contribution of $1 Million.
In addition to saving money on fuel, travelers renting hybrids will have added assistance trying to navigate through traffic in congested cities by having access to the carpool lanes. This holiday season - traveling green has never been easier!
